Our parish began a lasting relationship with Bishop Dominic Kimengich from Kenya, Africa when he lived in our rectory for the summer several years ago. He came to meet Mary Agnes McGrail, the woman who sponsored him through seminary. At that time, he was the rector of St. Joseph Junior Seminary in Molo, Kenya.
Since his initial visit, Fr. Dominic has served in several apostolates in Kenya, having most recently been ordained Bishop of the Lodwar Diocese. Amid acute poverty, ignorance and the HIV/AIDS pandemic, the Church in Kenya works tirelessly to evangelize, eradicate poverty, establish schools and supply health care.
