The Church welcomes a couple as they begin their life of committed, faithful love, and celebrates the wedding of its members in the context of our prayer as Christians. Thus we come together as a community asking God’s blessing on them and giving them our prayerful support.
The Catholic Church is concerned about those who have experienced the pain of divorce and seeks to minister to them. The application process begins in the parish and applicants are welcomed with respect and understanding.
Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick Contact Monsignor Mike Hazard ext. 103
or Father Anthony, ext.133
The grace of this sacrament is a spiritual healing by which the sick person receives the Holy Spirit’s gift of peace and courage to deal with the discouragement and difficulties of serious illness or the limitations of advanced age. Prayers are included for physical healing if that be the will of God. The appropriate time to request this sacrament for oneself or another is at the time of serious illness, during chronic illness, or prior to surgery.
Rebirth which makes us sharers in the life of God and members of the Church, the Body of Christ is among the many graces of Baptism. We celebrate the baptism of infants in groups with other families several times during the year. Adults and children old enough to be instructed take part in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). This process includes prayer, instruction, community experience and service which lead to full initiation into the life and mission of Jesus as lived by the Church. The sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist are celebrated at the Easter Vigil the night before Easter.
The Church reaches out in loving care to those who are confined at home due to illness or the limitations of advanced age by commissioning Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion to make communion calls to them. Call Sr. Mary Catherine Fodocy if you, or someone you know would desire such a visit.
