Welcome Fr. Antony Rajesh , (Fr. Antony) as our new Pastor, and Father Maximilian Nightingale (Fr. Max) as our new Parochial Vicar of St. Joseph Parish. Both, Fr. Antony and Fr. Max will preside at our July 15th, Monday morning Mass at 8:30 am.
Expanding St. Joseph Food Pantry hours this summer means more volunteers are needed. Food Pantry volunteers greet the families, help them shop, pack the food, stock the shelves, and prepare lists for reordering. This is a great opportunity for people who want summer volunteer hours. No special training needed. You may volunteer 1 day per week, or more.
Holy Family Healthcare and Catholic Charities Diocese of Kalamazoo are partnering with St. Joseph Church to bring services to the community.
Fr. Antony comes to us from St. Clare Mission, Centreville, St. Barbara Parish, Colon & Immaculate Conception Parish, Three Rivers Collaborative. He is looking forward to “planting his feet at a single parish and getting to know all of you.”
Fr. Antony was ordained April 22, 2010 for Missionaries of St. Francis de Sales.
Msgr. Michael Hazard, our “homegrown” priest and long-time pastor at St. Joseph Catholic Church will soon be changing his status to Pastor Emeritus when he officially retires in July from his pastoral duties after 28 years of faithful ministry.
In case you were not here for Mass May 25-26 when the announcement was made, we have more news for our parishioners. Fr. Mike will be leaving us in July, as he plans to start a new chapter in his life. We’re not sure yet just what direction he will take next, but it’s sure to be something “GREAAAT!” (as he would say as he kicks up his foot).
Fr. Mike has served St. Joseph parish for a total of 32 years, with the most recent stint beginning back in 1991. He has performed countless Baptisms, First Communions, Quinceañeras, Weddings, etc. and an almost infinite number of prayers and welcoming of souls to the Lord’s Table as we celebrate the Holy Eucharist.Fr. Mike became Msgr. Hazard in 2005, but to all of us, he will always be, “Father Mike.”
Registration information will be available soon. Be sure mark your calendar and dust off those clubs!
Saturday, August 10, 2019.
