ST. JOSEPH FOOD PANTRY NEEDS VOLUNTEERS

Expanding St. Joseph Food Pantry hours this summer means more volunteers are needed.

2 years ago, the St. Joseph Food Pantry was serving about 32 families a week, which amounted to 1 truckload of food per month. Then in the fall of 2017, the St. Joseph Food Pantry switched to Monday-Friday service for approximately 55 families a week, adding more variety of foods, more food per family and about 3 truckloads per month.

Fast forward to June of 2019 and more need is being directed our way. Kalamazoo Loaves & Fishes is building an addition and have requested our help to serve approximately 36 additional families per week during their remodeling project, expected to last at least through September.

Food Pantry volunteers greet the families, help them shop, pack the food, stock the shelves, and prepare lists for reordering. This is a great opportunity for people who want summer volunteer hours. No special training needed. You may volunteer 1 day per week, or more.

Currently, our Food Pantry is open M-F, 12:30-2:30 pm. July 1, we are adding M-F, 10 am-12:30 pm and we need 2 more volunteers each morning.

Please consider VOLUNTEERING at our Food Pantry!!! Students & Families are welcome too. This is a great way to earn community service hours for Confirmation.
